With Christmas fast approaching, we are yet again coming into yet another busy period in the crafty world. We are busy with events and will be travelling from Bude to Bath over the next few months. With regular weekly markets in Honiton and Taunton, there will be plenty of opportunities to catch up with myself or Mark and see what's new.
Mark and I never do anything by halves however, not only are we preparing our stock for the busy period, but we are also working on our new studio. It has been a long hawl to get the room in my Dad's barn up to a standard where we can work comfortably, but also have it good enough to welcome people to our studio on open studio weekends. The first open weekend will be the 2nd and 3rd November. But we are slowly getting there now and with the walls gradually turning white, the end is in sight.
We have lots of future plans for the studio, we will be running various workshops too, including Christmas wreath making, art/ painting workshops, jewellery making workshops (by ourselves) and then we will be running workshops with guest tutors, such as willow weaving and glass art to name a few. Watch this space.
Mark has been busy painting new paintings, which thanks to a couple of "collectors" recently, he has had to work hard to keep up with their love for his work! Which as Mark is new to selling his work, he has been gob smacked by how much his work is being appreciated, not only online but also at events, where his greeting cards, prints and new framed mini prints are becoming hugely popular.
This painting SOLD within 3 days of him finishing it! Prints and Greeting cards are available.
I am continueing to create my jewellery, with the odd new design or semi precious stone popping up every now and again. This is the time of year where I really have to juggle online sales with event sales, so I would appreciate it if you are going to order anything online you give me plenty of time to make it, sometimes I will have to order the stones and some can take up to a month to arrive, so please dont leave it too late to order your Christmas presents.
I have completed a few unique orders recently including this map of Borneo which includes a peice of Coral the couple bought back from Borneo with them and this wave pendant including a Moonstone. And my Tree of Life Pendants continue to be popular.
With my daughter's help we have started to re-photograph my necklaces and pendants, which I hope will help people to make up their mind which is their favourite, because now you can see what they look like on.
Mark is also starting his winter work of hedgelaying (Devon Hedges and Woods), where he will be completing a length of hedge in Halwill Junction.
