Busy Busy at this years events!!
I have been busy with events over the last few weeks. Bude Farmers and Craftsers Market is always one of my favourites, not only because I have been attending this market now for 3 years, but because I get to meet up with all the other stall holders who I am now good friends with, so there is a lot of laughs, which makes the atmosphere at the market lovely, because quite often our customers will join our debates as we put the world to rights!!
Not only have I been to Bude but I have also been to Hatherleigh Street Festival, which was a lovely little market, where we were all in the square and under the big marquee they had musician and childrens entertainer.
The third Ruby Country Market was on the 11th August, this month they had a cowboy theme, with real live cowboys who wondered about and then every now and again would have a disagreement and have a shoot off! I was on my way back from spending a penny once when they started to shoot at each other, I knew my little dog Rowan (who comes to most of my fairs or sits in the shop with me) would not be enjoying it, my husband was there as he had a stand also, but she is very much my little baby, so I needed to get back to her, but their shooting was in my way!! So I held onto my sun hat, bent over and shouted "dont shoot, dont shoot"!! I think people thought I was part of the act! She was much carmer with me there but my husband said he had a job keeping her with him she was ready to come and find me. Bless.
On Thursday 9th August I went to Okehampton Agricultural Show, where we had a scorcher of a day, which was lucky as it had been raining all week previously and the North Devon Show (which I also should of gone to) was cancelled. I decided for this event I would try coming out the craft marquee as it can get quite stuffy in there and join the big traders on the trade stands. Well it paid off, because out of over 150 trade stands (including those in the craft tent) I came 2nd for the best retail trade stand!
Next events are Bude Farmers and Crafters Market on Friday and Holsworthy and Stratton Agricultural Show on Thursday 23rd August, hope to see you there!
