Fossils by Mark Betson

Fossils
by Mark Betson
Mark has been painting furiously lately, almost producing a new painting or sketch every week, usually his paintings are influenced by trees, in the past painting landscapes and sunsets with siloueted trees, they then became more abstract in the last year or two, with his "Tree of Life" series.  We always make greeting cards and prints of his paintings and these have been selling well at markets.

Natural progression and inspiration from other artists took him to try different techniques.

whats going on his head!

There comes a time when even Mark - a tree lover - gets fed up of painting trees and needs to take a step away from his usual subjects and try something new.  In April this year he produced a still life.

However his latest painting finished just this week is completely different to his usual style, it started off life as a doodle in his sketch pad while sat at Taunton BHBA market with me.  Which was then outlined, this in its self is stunning.  It was then transfered to a canvas measuring 50cm square and it came alive!

Mark intends to extend this style with a series of small affordable canvas paintings which will be available both online and at the markets that I attend.  And of course all his paintings are available as greeting cards and prints.
The more Mark paints the better he is getting, his intricate designs are truely stunning, eye catching and will put light and colour into anyones eyes and homes.
